However, she attracted a lot of attention in March when she was mentioned as a contender to replace Hope Hicks as communications director. The fight has been bitter. The allies of Schlapp and Tony Sayegh, another contender for the job, began jousting in the media. When The Washington Examiner published a negative report on Sayegh Schlapp stated that she called Sayegh to show a relationship with her.
